Continue ShoppingNebraska has a particular kind of late afternoon. The light goes gold, then deeper gold, then a specific amber that doesn't exist anywhere that isn't flat — a color the sky makes only when the sun has all the room it needs to reach across before it goes down. The wheat catches it. Everything catches it. For twenty minutes, the whole state becomes a single piece of very good light, and then the sky darkens and it is over, and the people who were standing outside for those twenty minutes don't quite go inside right away.
June has stood in a field like this one. She says the sky was doing something. She did not elaborate.
Harvest Light is the golden hour piece of the Wheat + Wind collection: warm ochre and prairie amber, the cinematic sweep of a Nebraska landscape at its most itself. It is an expansive print that makes a room feel like it has a horizon — the kind of piece that looks completely different at noon than it does at dusk, and rewards both viewings. Hang it large for the full landscape effect. Hang it in a room with good afternoon light and wait for someone to stop in the doorway.
