The deepwater journal is different from the tide pool notes — the handwriting is smaller, the observations are spaced further apart, and the care taken with each entry is more apparent, as if she understood that what she was documenting had not been documented before and might not be again. The text on this print echoes the Map of Unreliable Waters: here be things that do not wish to be found. Same world. Different depth.
