Ember + Evergreen
Sylvie Hazel Fenwick keeps a fire lookout in the Cascades.
She records the river, the weather and the smoke in pencil, on forms, with her initials. Most of what she writes down is ordinary. Some of it isn't: the river has moved since Tuesday, and the mountain was absent until 6:40. She notes it and carries on.
Ember + Evergreen is Paperfinch's Oregon collection: Douglas fir and Cascade peaks, the Painted Hills, a beaver with a plan, and a fire kept going from the first cold snap to spring. Art prints, tea towels, coasters, ornaments, pillows and pouches in deep evergreen, dusty teal and ember rust.
