Let's Go To – San Francisco

A guide on what to see, where to go, and what to eat in San Francisco, the City by the Bay

Lets Go To San Francisco

Hi there Wanderer!

Today we are recapping another Micro Travel Blog location and we are so excited to have you following along! Here's how it works: we believe that life is nothing without adventure, so we have been exploring the world through amazing travel photography (courtesy of a few wonderful friends). And because we want YOU to get out there and explore more, we are pulling together some fun travel tips for each location so that you can start planning your next trip! So get your travel pack ready because here we go...

Whatever happened to predictability? .... Am I the only one who immediately hears those words when I see a (gorgeous) picture of the Golden Gate Bridge? .... I can't be the only one!

Yep, today's stop is beautiful San Francisco, California courtesy of our friend Amalie Orrange Photography!

The City by the Bay. Or, as the locals call it, just The City. And The City is huge. So let's just focus on one area, shall we? Maybe the Golden Gate area? It's in the northern part of San Francisco and is home to several upscale neighborhoods, a couple of National Historic Landmarks, and one of the most iconic views in the world - #thatbridge. All the heart eyes!⠀

For the very best view of the Golden Gate Bridge, go to Fort Point and look up. You'll feel like you stepped right into Hitchcock's film Vertigo, minus the fake suicide attempt (#spoileralert). ⠀

If you're an architecture buff, make time to take a stroll through the Pacific Heights and Cow Hollow neighborhoods to check out the stunning Victorian and Edwardian homes there. ⠀

Book lovers, schedule a tour of Arion Press to see their historic bookmaking facilities. Tours are on Thursdays at 3 PM. Or pop into Readers Bookstores to shop books, vinyls, and prints - all supporting the local library. ⠀

And finally, eat! If you're in The City on a Thursday night, definitely check out Twilight at the Presidio. Dozens of gourmet food trucks make camp there and dish out some of the best culinary treats that San Francisco has to offer. Who doesn't love a camp of food trucks?!

Finish the night off with a toast to your time in San Francisco with a cocktail at The Interval - a bar/museum hybrid that is as gorgeous as it is unique. Try a Szarlotka for me! ⠀

Now that we've helped with the itinerary, book yourself that flight and get out there! Check out homes to rent for San Francisco here!

In the meantime, tell me below what I missed from the City by the Bay! I want to hear all your favorites!
