Let's Go To...Rosemary Beach

Hey there Finches!

Kristen here! It's time to go on another Micro Travel Blog adventure.

Here's how it works: we believe that life is nothing without adventure, so we have been exploring the world through amazing travel photography (courtesy of a few wonderful friends). And because we want YOU to get out there and explore more, we are pulling together some fun travel tips for each location so that you can start planning your next trip!

This Micro Travel Blog is all about Rosemary Beach in sunny ol’ Florida!

HERE WE GO!

------

Just a stone’s throw away from one of the top spring breaking destinations in the world, Rosemary Beach neighbors Panama City Beach in the panhandle of Florida. No this place isn’t filled with beer funnels and sunbathing college students. This place is similar to a spa paradise- serene atmosphere, picturesque places to live, sandy beaches and plenty of places to get a great Instagram snap.

Relaxed yet?

Luckily, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit this special place to help a client with a wedding. Beforehand, I had no clue where this secluded spot was, how far it was from Tampa (where I’m located) or what it would be like. Well now you don’t have to guess because I did the groundwork for you. Here’s the DL on Rosemary Beach:

Stay

One of the best parts of Rosemary Beach is that no matter where you stay, it is a page from Architectural Digest (and priced like one too). I guarantee it. There are plenty of rental companies a Google search away offering homes well-decorated and more importantly, near the beach. But if you’re looking for a hotel, then look no further then The Pearl. Now this hotel is also a sight for sore eyes. Just walk into the lobby and out to the pool area and you’ll see why. The staff is incredibly helpful and always there to lend a hand.

Eat

Of course there are plenty of places to eat in Rosemary Beach! One of my favorite restaurants? Cowgirl Kitchen. We went early in the morning so we were the only people there, which was nice because we got to get to know the lovely waitress behind the fantastic service. Besides the people, the food was also fantastic. I got the Farmer Egg Scramble and wish I ordered another one to go. This is the perfect place for some casual fun dining.

If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, we all went to Restaurant Paradis. Do yourself a favor and order a crab cake. Most likely the best crab cake I’ve ever had. Everything on the menu is delicious and the atmosphere is more romantic. Perfect for a little date night!

Play

Seaside is not only the location of the famous film The Truman Show, but it’s also the location of a little road trip we all took before duty called. Not exactly a party area- the entire of Rosemary Beach and surrounding areas close around 9pm- Seaside is great for some good eats, good drinks and taking in the beauty of this beachside community.

We started off with a visit to the iconic abode from the aforementioned film then headed to the town’s central area to explore a spot for lunch. Making a pit stop to grab an amuse bouche that was a pickle at the correctly named Pickles Beachside Grill, we all happily settled on The Shrimp Shack. If you’re a seafood connoisseur, get yourself here. After learning how to eat the Apalachicola oysters the right way, I feasted on the Shrimp Salad Roll pictured here. By the look on my face you can tell I was ready to eat. It was delicious!

Afterwards, we were on the hunt for ice cream and sweets. We stopped at Heavenly’s Shortcakes and Ice Cream and Dawson’s Yogurt before snapping a picture in of one of the many post offices found in each of these small beach communities.

The beach didn’t exactly make it in, which is obviously surprising. But it was a work trip! Can you blame us for not wanting to get sandy? Also, it was a little chilly. If I were to go back though, I’d definitely be spending more time there along with going back to all the lovely places I had the opportunity to visit.
